Benshangul-Gumuz Credit,Savings Institute launches website,establishes network system

Assosa, May 13, 2006 (WIC) - The Benshangul-Gumuz state Credit and Savings Institute announced that it has launched a web site and computer network system which enables it to offer efficient service to its customers.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Kemal Worku, General Manager of the Hussena Computer, which established the network system and website, said the network connects the institution with three sub-branches and two branch offices thus helping it to provide efficient and timely services.

Administration and Finance Manager of the institute, Zelalem Mengesha, said on his part that the network minimizes the burden of work in the office, facilitates follow up work in branch offices and easily access files of customers.

Zelalem said the network system has become active in Assosa, Pawe and Gilgel Beles towns and added that 30 employees of the institute have attended 12-day training to further extend the service to 20 other offices.

Inaugurating the Web site, president of the state government Yaregal Aysheshum said the institute should properly use the network system as computer is vital to extend services of the institution to rural parts of the state.

The British Department for International Development (DFID) financed construction of the network and web site, it was learnt.
