Meles heads high level delegation to France - (ENA)

Addis Ababa, February 14, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - A high-level government delegation led by Prime Minister Meles Zenawi left for France to attend the 24th France-Africa heads of state and government summit to open on Thursday.

The summit under a theme “Africa and the World Balance", has three roundtables.

The first one which is devoted to assess genuine benefits the continent derives from its abundant natural resources, while other roundtables will discuss the media and the weight of Africa in the world.

Meles during the summit will participate in various high-profile discussions with other heads of state on issues of raw materials in Africa, the stature of the continent and the information society,

The France-Africa Summit, which is held every two years, is a forum for political dialogues between France and African countries aimed at creating awareness on critical issues affecting the development of the continent.

Prime Minister Meles was seen off on departure at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by senior government officials.
