Fighting between Islamists and government forces continues near the Kenyan border

Mogadishu (Sh.M.Network) - Heavy fighting between the Ethiopian troops backing the government forces still rages in the jungles south of the port town of Kismayu.

Reports indicate that the battle happened a settlement near the Kenyan border where Islamist fighters accompanied by nearly 100 battlewagons were sneaking.

The Ethiopian and government troops are still chasing the Islamic Courts leaders and fighters that vowed they would begin a guerrilla war in the capital Mogadishu.

Islamists were in control of most parts in the country in the past six months
