The 2006 TOYOTA Great Ethiopian Run is now just a few days away. 25,000 particpnats have registred for the main 10km race with an additional 3,000 children registered in the AIMS Children Series.
The event welcomes runners of all levels and especially visitors from abroad. If you are coming from abroad and interested to register for this year's race please visit registration international 10k for more details.
Registration for residents of Ethiopia for the 2006 TOYOTA Great Ethiopian Run 10km is now closed.
This year's 6th edition of the race will have the highest number of participants for any road race in Africa. Such is the excitement around race weekend that Ethiopia's double Olympic champion and race patron Haile Gebrselassie has spoken of the event as being like a national holiday.
The Children's Races act as the 3rd leg of the AIMS Childrens Series and will be staged for children aged under 8 and under 11 on the Saturday morning before the main 10km race.
The weekend's programme is as follows:
Friday 24th November: Pre-race press conference at Hilton Hotel
Saturday 25th November (Meskel Square, 9am start): AIMS Children Series, races for girls and boys aged under 8 & 11
Sunday 26th November (Meskel Square): 8.15am Tricycle race
