Asmara, 23 October 2007- In a report it sent to the UN Secretary General, the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission (EEBC) pointed out that it is unable to carry out its demarcation task due to the Ethiopian government’s non-compliance.
In its official report sent to the United Nations today, the Commission indicated that Eritrea had fulfilled all that is expected of her. In contrast, the Commission underlined that the Ethiopian government, through raising totally irrelevant, extraneous excuses regarding the demarcation process, openly expressed its reluctance to agree to border demarcation. Hence, the EEBC explained that it could not implement its border demarcation task.
