Addis Ababa, December 16, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - Addis Ababa city roads authority (AACRA) announced that construction of Gotera Interchange Roads- a flyovers and interchange squares project, is being speeded up.
About 37 percent of the project has already been finalized.
Authority General Manager, Engineer Fekade Haile told ENA that the interchange road that is being constructed by the Chinese Roads and Bridge Construction Company (CRBC) has an 8.1 kilometers length.
Engineer Fekade said that the interchange project involves overpasses connecting four major roads and a rail way.
At present an average of 90,000 vehicles pass through the Gotera interchange.
Efforts are being made to finalize the project, which was launched with 96.1 million Birr and is destined to be the first of its type road net work in Addis Ababa, Engineer Fekade added.
