Iranian and Ethiopian officials discuss opening the Ethiopian embassy in Tehran in a bid to boost bilateral and economic relations.
During an official visit to Ethiopia, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, Reza Baqeri, discussed issues of mutual interest with the Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin. They reviewed the latest developments in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and the horn of Africa.
Baqeri submitted President Ahmadinejad's official invitation to the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi to visit Tehran.
Zenawi for his part expressed gratitude for the invitation and called for the expansion of Tehran-Addis Ababa ties.
The Iranian envoy met with the Ethiopian Parliament Speaker Teshome Toga to discuss the expansion of bilateral parliamentary relations.
In his Ethiopia visit Baqeri also met with the African Union Commissioner Oumar Konaré.
