Ministry collects over 10bln birr revenue

The Ministry of Revenue collected a revenue totalling 10 billion birr in the past nine months. The ministry earned the revenue from tax and non-tax revenue and from the sale of lottery.

The nine-month performance report of the Ministry of Revenue presented to parliament indicated that the Federal Inland Revenue Authority (FIRA) collected 4.3 billion birr during the stated period.

FIRA collected 3.4 billion birr during the same period last year. FIRA, the Ethiopian Customs Authority and the National Lottery are administered by the Ministry of Revenue.

The Ethiopian Customs Authority collected 5.8 billion birr in the past nine month. The Authority's revenue shows an increase of 17.4 percent when compared to that earned last year during the same period. Meanwhile, the National Lottery Administration earned 14.8 million birr in the past nine month.
