Shell Ethiopia announced this week that it has brought one brand-new refueler while refurbishing another with state-of-the-art refueling vehicles worth well over six million birr to ensure and strengthen the efficiency of aviation fuel refueling activities at Bole International Airport.
At the inauguration ceremony of refueling vehicles held at the Bole International
Airport, Mr. Edgar Omoto, general manager of Shell Ethiopia Ltd, said that
the new vehicles that are put in service would double the refueling capacity
of the company in terms of volume of fuel and efficiency to satisfy the Jet
Al demand for both national flag carriers as well as international airlines
that fly to and from Addis Ababa.
In anticipation of Ethiopian acquisition of the Boeing 787 dream-liner into
the aviation business, the initiatives that Shell Ethiopia undertook would
create an enabling ground for Ethiopian to meet and even exceed its customer
expectations, he said.
Mr. Edgar noted that the purchase of these state-of-the-art refueling vehicles
increased the whole investment of the company in Bole Aviation Depot as well
as five other national airfields across the country to reach more than 24
million birr within two consecutive fiscal years. He underscored that the
ongoing investment of the company testifies to the strong and greater investment
commitment of Shell in Ethiopia.
